Matrix of Labour - Order timeline prints

The IGZA's work is based on a basic understanding of the temporal structure of human history and the most important dimensions to which human labour is linked. In a longitudinal section, it leads through the epochs of the history of labour. In the cross-section, cross-connections and interactions between developments in the various dimensions become visible.

Following on from the rapidly developing global presentation of history, the IGZA has created timelines in recent years that show the developments in the most important dimensions and their links. The books „Matrix der Arbeit -Materialien zur Geschichte und Zukunft der Arbeit“ (2023) are a detailed commentary on these timelines. They contain analyses, theses, tables and 1,100 graphics on the history and future of work.

The timelines invite you to inform yourself, browse and discuss. They offer a variety of points of reference for getting started and also for delving deeper into topics relating to the history and future of labour. We make them available to academics, educational institutions, museums, trade unions and companies as well as the general public.
