The IGZA team is made up of experts from various disciplines. The staff, fellows, doctoral students, student assistants and interns come from the disciplines of history, economics, political economy, sociology, statistics and archaeology.

Managing Director of the IGZA
Cornelius Markert, born in 1986, studied International Business Studies in Paderborn and Ottawa (M.A.). He received his doctorate in economics from the Faculty of Economics at Paderborn University („The Socio-Economics of the Employment Relationship“). From 2011 to 2017, he worked at the Institute for Labour and Human Resource Management at the Volkswagen Group's Auto University, most recently as a programme manager.
Main areas of work: Quantitative social research, matrix of labour, development of productivity and good work.
